Culture Differentiation
Culture Differentiation Against The Competition
- It's not about creating a product that has different features & benefits, that are not radical enough
- It's not about building momentum first, that comes and goes
- It's not about SWOT analysis, everyone can strengthen their strengths and weaken their weaknesses
- It's not about going against a different audience, they will catch up
Even though these tactics might work for a while but for how long?
The only way I can see competitive differentiation as an advantage is when there is a radical differentiation in "values"
But how do you do that?
Well, it starts with social listening, right? It's by asking the right questions first:
1- What kind of values is being misused? can they be replaced?
2- What are the cultural rules in which these values live?
3- Is it appropriate to cancel a culture that doesn't live by its values? Is it a "cancel" or "get-canceled" game? does it have an end? to what extinct?
Let me give you an example of my take on @Patrick Bet-David tweet
Since public media aka the internet or as we know it today with "YouTube, Spotify, Instagram..." is controlling free speech at levels of magnitude
Are these media controllers behaving in a way that leads to capital profit or personal satisfaction? (which one of these will lead to a quick death spiral?)
How would you outmaneuver that?
By going against their values,
By going against "censorship of free speech",
By creating a platform where people can have debates and grow without leading to a certain extinct where if your voice is heard by millions of people you'll risk losing access to share that voice.
I feel like this is not spoken about enough
Hopefully, this was valuable and it made you reflect on things differently.
What is your take on this? Should we write about this in a public fashion? or not? Should we have more conversations about this?
I believe it is our right to write about what we think is right, if you believe in what I believe share the belief.
